Florida gives up all pretense of supporting public education

From the Tampa Times: The House Appropriations Committee on Thursday approved a sweeping charter school bill that would, among other things, require traditional public schools to share empty classroom space with charter schools.

So let me get this straight, the Florida Legislature wants local school districts to give and then maintain, empty schools and even classrooms to charter schools many of which are for profit entities not beholden to the public.

It’s a mobious strip too folks because one of the reasons that we have empty schools and classrooms is because charter schools have taken children out of the public schools.

Just so there is no mistake, you should know the Florida Legislature wants public school districts to give away the public's assets to for profit companies. Companies that re more interested in making a quick buck than educating our children.
