We have been seduced by cheap goods that put American workers out of jobs lowering our standard of living. If we want to take back America we have to separate the wheat from the chaff, and draw the line in the sand and not be diverted. We have to have a society that acts to protect children and the elderly, our most endangered groups. We have to revive empathy and consideration of others which IS NOT taught at school. It can be reinforced, but not taught because of a nationally canned curriculum and pacing guide and it can't be taught by entities more concerned with the bottom line than educating our children.
If we had quality options/charter schools, that paid teachers a decent wage we might be able to have a conversation, unfortunately that is not the case.
